My name is Tobby Smith and I am the Pastor/Preaching Elder for Memorial Baptist Church in New Castle, Indiana. I became a Christian in 1995 and subsequently went into Pastoral ministry in 2004.
I went to Boyce College and earned a B.A. in Biblical & Theological Studies; then on to Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and earned, both, an M.A. in Theology and a Masters of Divinity.
Aside from ministry as a Pastor I also serve as a Hospice Chaplain and get the privilege of ministering to families that are going through some of the hardest times of their lives. So, my life and ministry are broad and it keeps me pretty busy, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I am a husband to my wife Rachel (17 years) and we have one son, Piper (named after one of my heroes, Pastor John Piper). This blog exists to examine life, ministry, and culture in relationship to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope that it allows people in my own context get to know a little more about their Pastor’s thoughts as well make theology practical & applicable to all of life.
